TriVersity’s Indianapolis office participates in TeenWorks Career Exploration Fair

On July 13, representatives from TriVersity’s Indianapolis office participated in the first TeenWorks Career Exploration Fair. Held at the Indiana State Fair Farm Bureau Building with over 170 teens in attendance, volunteer companies hosted booths and spoke with teens about their careers paths had to offer. TeenWorks’ goal was to expose teens to multiple career fields that might peak their interest prior to applying to college or joining the workforce.

At the request of Marianne Glick, founder of TeenWorks, Akilah Darden, project executive, and James Cruz, project manager represented TriVersity and spoke with teens about careers in construction. “To see so many bright, smart, and ambitious students eager to learn more about the opportunities in construction both in management and the trades was amazing and brings me hope for the future of the industry,” said Akilah.

TeenWorks was started in 1981 as a program to provide young, at-risk teens with a summer employment opportunity that would teach them the importance of self-discipline, a hard day’s work, and giving back to the community. TeenWorks continues to build upon this founding vision by advancing our mission “to empower teens to achieve excellence in college, career, and community.”
