Q&A with Mel Gravely of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Thinking
By Andy Brownfield, Courier Contributor
Mel Gravely doesn’t have much use for excuses. When asked how he keeps morale up in a down economy, he answered that it isn’t the state of the economy that determines morale, but how you do business.
And business is something Gravely knows how to do. As the founder of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Thinking, Gravely helps minority business owners develop their companies.
Gravely recently purchased a controlling stake, with business partner Eric Browne, in TriVersity Construction Group, one of the largest minority-owned companies in the region. He talked about leadership, finding time for personal things and his plans for TriVersity with Courier contributor Andy Brownfield. Excerpts follow.
