Children’s Hospital Neonatal ICU
TriVersity Construction Company has a long-standing relationship with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) that encompasses a portfolio of completed projects, including the NICU Expansion project.
Recognized as the No. 3 preemie care program in the nation by Parents magazine, CCHMC’s NICU is often the preferred hospital by parents’ of new babies with health concerns requiring around-the-clock attention.
As part of CCHMC’s standard of excellence, the NICU project consisted of an 11-bed expansion with accompanying support spaces. Located where the most complex brain surgeries are performed, a skilled team was needed to oversee the construction site. Adding to the complexity, the renovation site was positioned underneath the Cardiac ICU and directly adjacent to patient rooms.
Due to the location of this project, on any given weekend we were required to close three or more of the busiest operating room suites at 5 p.m. on a Friday, install under-slab plumbing, replace ceilings, and re-open the suites for surgery at 5 a.m. the following Monday.
There were eight phases of work in this 18,000-square-foot renovation. Each phase was executed flawlessly.
