Darden Honored Guest of 100 Black Men of Indianapolis Gala

Project Executive Akilah Darden and her husband, Travis Darden, attended the 100 Black Men of Indianapolis Gala Awards Dinner as guests of James Duke of Indiana University Health who serves as president of 100 Black Men of Indianapolis. Akilah sat with honored guests Mayor Joe Hogsett and Congressman Andre Carson.

This grand event, held on Oct. 8 at the JW Marriott, benefited The 100’s vision to positively impact the mental, physical, moral and spiritual development of youth in Central Indiana through mentoring-based Youth Development programs.

The evening included fine dining, casino gaming and dancing, reflecting not only on how  The 100 continues to impact the community, but also showcasing and recognizing youth, emerging leaders and community/corporate partners who have shown a commitment and dedication to improving our community through community service, civic engagement and mentoring.
