Begin construction of Allen Temple annex

Congregation, community, political and business leaders come together to celebrate the Allen Temple AME Church expansion of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 7030 Reading Road, Bond Hill on Oct. 19.

Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, in partnership with TriVersity Construction, the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority, and DNK Architects, broke ground on a new 10,000 square foot annex.

Groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new 10,000 square foot annex at Allen Temple in Bond HillThe oldest African American church in the region, Allen Temple has a long and distinguished history of service and ministry in Cincinnati. Originally in Downtown Cincinnati and later in Roselawn, Allen Temple purchased Swifton Commons Mall in 1998 and built its current facilities at the corner of Reading and Seymour. The church sold the adjoining 25-acre mall property to the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority in 2013 for a community-led redevelopment. The Allen Temple facilities expansion is being led by the design build team of DNK Architects and TriVersity Construction.

When finished, the new Allen Temple Annex will support the educational, social, training, and community programs of the Church for years to come.
